Bieber wrote the song with former California Breed guitarist Andrew Watt, Korean-American songwriter Brian Lee (Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Good Time,” Fifth Harmony’s “Work from Home”) and Ali Tamposi (Kelly Clarkson’s “What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)”). The original demo was presented to DJ Snake by his A&R Nick Audino, which the French DJ then produced out.
